My artistic practice transforms domestic scenes, landscapes, and everyday objects into vibrant, off-kilter celebrations of the mundane. Working in acrylic, gouache and embroidery, I draw on my Venezuelan heritage through bold, saturated color and an aesthetic shaped by naive and outsider traditions that embrace flatness and imperfect rendering. Through a slow process of collaging personal photographs with found imagery, I construct compositions that feel familiar yet idiosyncratic- where squeezed perspectives, shifting planes, and unexpected relationships disrupt recognition. By extending the painted image onto all sides of the canvas, I turn the surface into a three-dimensional object that alters as the viewer moves around it. Lush and abundant, my paintings are luminous meditations on daily life, celebrating the poetry of the everyday while offering a vibrant counterpoint to the darkness often present in our world.
